Sailability Port Stephens

Our sailing venue

Sailability Port Stephens sails on the Grahamstown Dam, on Grahamstown Road, Medowie NSW.  It is the main water supply storage for Newcastle and surrounding areas.

We mostly use the following boats: Access 303s, Access 2.3s and Walker Bay 10s. We also have some Lasers, Corsairs and catamarans, not all presently suitable for sailing but being worked on.

Our sailing season runs from 1st October to 30th April.  We run several "Learn to Sail" courses during the October, January and Easter school holidays.  Club members race most Saturday afternoons.  Casual sailing is available on weekends and also on Thursdays during the January school holidays.

On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during the school terms in season, the Club hosts school children, mostly from special schools/classes, and adults from Day Care Groups.

Our club is staffed entirely by volunteers, including able-bodied members, who play an integral role in the club's sailing programme and other activities.  Volunteers are always welcome.  Child protection issues have to be satisfied.

Sailablity NSW is a registered charity; donations and sponsorships are always welcome.
